PS5 Update 26.04-13.42.00 Patch Notes For July 23

Only one thing has been changed in the recent July 23 PS5 update:
‘We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.’
It feels very similar to the April 23 update, and it’s been a while since Sony made some big improvements or changes to the PS5 console.

We are closer to the PS6 than the PS5, but we’re still going to see a consistent rollout of updates for the PlayStation 5 as we get closer to the end of its time in the spotlight.
If you missed it, by the way, PlayStation’s no-disc plans could hint at a 2028 PS6 release date.
Sony and PlayStation aren’t in everyone’s good graces at the moment, and comments on the official X post about the update are about what you’d expect.
They’ll be hoping that Marvel’s Wolverine can undo some of this bad press.
