Multiplayer is the bread and butter of Call of Duty. Campaigns are great, and MW4’s DMZ will have a solid audience, but you can guarantee that most people who buy Modern Warfare 4 are in it for the multiplayer release.
Modern Warfare 4‘s multiplayer is the final addition to the package. Even though the game isn’t technically out, people who pre-ordered and upgraded to better editions have been able to play the outstanding campaign, and DMZ early access has already begun. All that’s left is MW4 online multiplayer.
When Can I Play MW4 Multiplayer?
You can play Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer once the full game is out on October 23.
Unlike the campaign and DMZ, there’s no multiplayer early access. Activision came up with the smart idea to start releasing the campaign early as an incentive years ago, which gets you the game slightly earlier, with the added bonus of more eyes on the campaign. The story could sometimes be overlooked when launching simultaneously with multiplayer.

In Modern Warfare 4, the idea is for a completely level playing field, which is why everyone can hop in together once MW4 launches.
What Time Does MW4 Multiplayer Start?
It’s been confirmed that Modern Warfare 4 launches at midnight local time in every region, for the first time ever.
This is quite easy to track! Once it hits midnight on October 23 where you are, you can start playing MW4’s online multiplayer. So, if you’ve booked the day after off, then you can stay up for a few hours and get some games in.
