Once you’re done crafting with Mild Acid in Subnautica 2, you’ll find that Strong Acid is next in line. It has some pretty serious uses, but it can be confusing to craft since it requires a specific resource that might sound unfamiliar on this alien planet: Necrolei Cyst.
In a world as strange and new as Subnautica 2, everything seems so alien, so pinpointing what a Necrolei Cyst is can be quite an odd task. Luckily for you, Insider Gaming has figured out what they are, as well as where you can find them.
Here’s where to find Necrolei Cysts, as well as how to then craft Strong Acid in Subnautica 2.
Where To Find Necrolei Cyst In Subnautica 2

Necrolei Cysts are fairly uncommon plants in Subnautica 2, and they spawn in small clusters towards the Northern region of the map.
The best place to find a batch is roughly 250 meters northwest of the Lifepod. Head in that direction until you see the small cluster of flowering plants in the image above.

However, make sure you come prepared, as you won’t be able to harvest them unless you have the Survival Multitool in hand. You would have needed to craft one earlier in your adventure, but make sure you bring it with you. Just float on over to the plants and chop the flowers off, and you’ll be ready to craft some Strong Acid.
How To Craft Strong Acid In Subnautica 2
With some Necrolei Cysts to your name, you can finally craft some Strong Acid in Subnautica 2.
That being said, you won’t be able to make some at the Fabricator. Instead, you’ll need to use your Processor, the machine used to make ingots. Simply queue up the recipe and load the Processor with the Necrolei Cysts, and before long, you’ll have some Strong Acid.

It’s important to note that Necrolei Cysts don’t seem to spawn in the further reaches of Subnautica 2, so once you get to the alien ruins, you won’t be able to replenish your stock for future Strong Acid crafting.
Thankfully, there’s another recipe in the Processor, though it requires Gold and Sulfur. It’s more expensive, but it will save you the long journey back.
