Where To Find Lead In Subnautica 2—Lead Location, Explained

There are already tons of resources available in Subnautica 2, and a lot of them are strictly tied to the game’s progression. One such resource is Lead, and if you’re looking to leave the first area of the game, it’s one you’ll want to find quickly.

With such a vast, open ocean in Subnautica 2 full of different biomes and environments to explore, it’s easy to get lost and not know where best to look for resources, but this guide should make it easier than ever to find Lead.

Here’s where to find Lead in Subnautica 2, as well as what the resources is used for.

A great place to look for Lead in Subnautica 2 is inside cavernous ravines, and you can find one fairly close to the Lifepod.

It tends to be the case that delving deeper into the ocean yields greater rewards, and that’s definitely the case with Lead. You’ll have to stray further from comfort than if you were hunting for Titanium or Quartz, but it’s still more than accessible.

The ravine can be found roughly 300 meters northeast of the Lifepod. Eventually, you’ll run into an underwater current that will drag you into the ravine. Follow it for a while, until you begin to see the small, purple Lead deposits; you’ll be able to break them easily enough with your Survival Multitool, so whack away and grab what’s yours!

What Is Lead Used For In Subnautica 2?

Lead is needed for only a few items in Subnautica 2, but one of them is crucial to progressing through the game’s areas.

You’ll most likely be hunting for Lead when you’re trying to craft the Sonic Resonator, as that’s the key to harvesting larger chunks of resources and, of course, fighting back the Bloom Infestation. If you’re on the hunt for the next Adaptation, you’ll need this Tool as soon as possible.

Outside of that, though, Lead doesn’t serve all too many purposes. It’s used to craft Germanium ingots, but it seems to run dry there. Naturally, with the game still in early access, the resource could be given more purposes in future updates, but for now, it shouldn’t be one that you find yourself regularly harvesting.
