Batteries are required for practically every tool in Subnautica 2, and you’ll want a healthy stock of them at your base. However, they are not so straightforward to craft, as they require a specific resource that might sound unfamiliar: Acidic Raion.
In a world as foreign as Subnautica 2, everything seems so alien and strange, so pinpointing what an Acidic Raion is can be quite an odd task. Luckily for you, Insider Gaming has figured out what they are, as well as the best way to harvest them.
Here’s where to find Acidic Raion, how to harvest them, and ultimately, how to craft a Battery in Subnautica 2.
Where To Find Acidic Raion In Subnautica 2

Acidic Raions are common plants that you can find in Subnautica 2, and they usually spawn in caves at a variety of depths.
The world of Subnautica 2 is littered with caves, and in most of them, you’ll find these giant, purple, brain-like plants called Acidic Raion. You’ll see that it’s split into two parts, with the Medical Gel Sack in the center, and the three purple pouches on the sides—it’s these that you’re after.

That being said, you can’t harvest them empty-handed, as you need a tool to split them apart. In the meantime, you could harvest the Medical Gel Sack instead, but you’ll soon be greeted with a blast of acid in return. It’s best to remove the Acidic Raion Pouches first, so here’s how it’s done.
How To Harvest Acidic Raion Pouch In Subnautica 2

To harvest the Acidic Raion Pouches in Subnautica 2, you’ll need to craft and use the Survival Multitool.
Unlike other tools in the game, you’ll have access to this from the get-go, so it should be one of the first items that you craft. To do so, you’ll need the following:
- 3x Titanium
This can be found in abundance in Subnautica 2, as the black metal can be picked up from the seabed. With three in hand, head to a Fabricator and craft your Survival Multitool. Now, equip the hatchet, and head back to the Acidic Raion; you should now be able to cut the pouch away, with each plant providing three Acidic Raion.

With those safely dispatched, you can also harvest the Medical Gel Sack without a chance of getting blasted by acid. It’s a handy item that can be used to craft healing items (if it wasn’t already obvious), though we’re all here to craft a Battery, so let’s do that next!
How To Craft A Battery In Subnautica 2
