There are plenty of resources that you’ll need to constantly farm for in Subnautica 2, and one of the more common ones is Sulfur. This crystalline chemical is a crucial crafting component for numerous items, so you’ll need to know where best to search for it.
With such a vast, open ocean in Subnautica 2 full of different biomes and environments to explore, it’s easy to get lost and not know where to look for resources, but this guide should make it easier than ever to find Sulfur.
Here’s where to find Sulfur in Subnautica 2, as well as what the resource is used for.
Where To Find Sulfur In Subnautica 2

Sulfur is exclusively found in and around the hotter regions of Subnautica 2.
If you’re still early in the game, it’s likely that you won’t be able to reach these areas just yet, as the high heat will quickly kill your character. Instead, you’ll need to seek out the Heat Tolerance Adaptation, which we have a handy guide for right here.

With that sorted, you’ll be ready to dive down into the scorching waters and collect yourself some Sulfur. It’s yellow and crystalline in appearance, and unless you’re seeking out the large chunks, you should be able to harvest it with ease.
Be quick, though; it’s usually right next to a heat source, which will still deal damage if you get too close, even with the Heat Tolerance Adaptation to your name. It’s best to rush in, smash the rock, and dip straight back out before any damage is sustained, but it won’t be anything life-threatening if you linger for slightly too long.
What Is Sulfur Used For In Subnautica 2?
Sulfur is a crafting component for only a few items in Subnautica 2, but those are then used for a variety of higher-tier recipes.
Whilst you’ll need Sulfur directly for the likes of processing Strong Acid or building your Repair Tool, odds are that you’ll use it the most to craft Advanced Wiring Kits. These are used in a variety of different higher-tier crafting recipes, such as vehicles and Dedicated Cores.

That being said, when you compare it to the likes of Titanium and Quartz, you probably won’t have to farm it anywhere near as much. The occasional trip to the hotter regions should be more than enough to suit your needs.
