World of Warcraft Forever became the talk of Anaheim recently after Blizzard took to the BlizzCon stage to finally unveil the reimagination of the classic MMO that kicked things off more than 20 years ago. The long-rumored game is out there for all to see, and it’s coming very soon. Much sooner than you might think!
What’s more exciting is that you can get hands-on with WoW Forever now. If you’re at BlizzCon, you can play it on the show floor, or if you happen to be reading this between September 17 and October 21, you can get access to a closed beta. Otherwise, find out below when WoW Forever is coming out and when you can start playing like it’s 2004 all over again.
World of Warcraft Forever Release Date
World of Warcraft Forever is coming out on November 4, 2026. It’s set to hit the market at 3 PM PST (or whatever that is where you are), and it can be pre-purchased now. In fact, that’s the easiest way to get access to the closed beta, if you haven’t already.

If you’re serious about fleshing out a new life in Azeroth with World of Warcraft Forever, you can participate in the Early Name Reservation phase, which starts on October 27, when the beta has ended, and runs until November 3, the day before WoW Forever launches.
That’s where you can assemble up to three characters, reserving their names so nobody else can grab them. There’s no other way to guarantee you’ll get the username you want!
