During BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard took to the stage to unveil World of Warcraft Forever, a reimagination and deep evolution of the classic World of Warcraft experience. Needless to say, WoW Forever has quickly become one of the gems of the entire showcase, which also included reveals of Diablo 5 and a new StarCraft open-world shooter.
But to the important question… How do you access the upcoming WoW Forever beta? It starts in just a few days, at the time of writing, but how can you secure a spot to play World of Warcraft Forever several weeks before it launches globally?
Let’s find out.
How to Participate in WoW Forever Beta
If you want to access the WoW Forever beta, you’ll need to complete one of two steps.
First, and the most direct way, you can purchase eligible versions or upgrades of the game, including:
- Skyborne Epic Pack
- WoW: Forever Collection
- WoW: Forever Collector’s Edition
The Skyborne Heroic Pack gets you a few exclusive goodies, but it does not grant access to the beta. That’s reserved for the Skyborne Epic Pack and up. The gem of the bunch is arguably the Warcraft Forever Collection, which comes with everything in the other bundles, Warcraft III: Reforged, an exclusive campaign, and unique rewards for World of Warcraft (the ‘modern’ version).
The cheapest way to get in will be to pre-purchase that Skyborne Epic Pack for $59.99. The Warcraft Forever Collection will set you back $79.99. Once you’ve completed your pre-purchase, you’ll be emailed the beta access key, but it might take a while for it to arrive.
Alternatively, you can head to the World of Warcraft site and opt in to the beta. This doesn’t guarantee access, though. That’s reserved solely for those who pre-purchase
WoW Forever Beta Dates
The World of Warcraft Forever beta starts on September 17 and runs until October 21, giving players plenty of time to get involved and test the waters.
The team at Blizzard has also advised that ‘Early Name Reservation’ will be open from October 27 to November 3, allowing users to create and customize up to three characters. Names will be secured on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you enjoy the WoW Forever beta, you’ll want to move fast.
