Eventually, you’ll come across a progression barrier in Subnautica 2 where raw materials won’t cut it for items you need to craft. Instead, you’ll need to turn them into Ingots, but the process isn’t as straight forward as you might think.
That’s because you’ll need to get your hands on a Processor, a machine in Subnautica 2 that, you guessed it, processes raw materials into a variety of Ingots. You’ll rely on this machine heavily as you delve deeper into the ocean, but you can’t just craft one as you please.
Here’s how to find and build a Processor in Subnautica 2, as well as how to use it to craft Ingots.
Where To Find Processor In Subnautica 2

To build the Processor, you’ll first need to scan a degraded version of the machine, which can be found naturally whilst exploring.
As with every scannable item in the game, there is more than just one degraded Processor out there for you to find, giving you numerous chances to find and scan one through exploration. However, if you want to know exactly where to look, head roughly 275 meters southwest from the Lifepod.

Eventually, you’ll run into a part of a ship wreck. Head inside, and towards the back of the interior, you’ll see the Processor pictured above. Simply scan it with your Scanner, and you’ll have the blueprint ready to build one of your own.

With that scanned, you can now build your own Processor, which is fairly cheap to make.
Here’s how to build a Processor in Subnautica 2:
- 2x Titanium
- 1x Mild Acid
- 1x Copper Wire
Of course, you’ll need to build this with a Habitat Builder, as large objects like this can’t be built at a Fabricator. But once you’ve got it placed down, it’s time to put it to good use and craft some ingots.
How To Craft Ingots In Subnautica 2

There are two sides to a Processor, and you’ll need to interact with both of them if you want to create some ingots.
Firstly, interact with the left side. You should see two options: one to Load the Processor, and another to Change Recipe. You’ll want to select your recipe first, and once that’s done, you’ll see a list of items you can craft with the Processor. Pick your ingot of choice, and then load the Processor with the required materials—this bit is done automatically as it draws from your storage.

Depending on the ingot, a timer will appear, so you’ll have to wait for a brief moment whilst it’s crafting. Once it’s done, you can retrieve your new ingot from the right side of the Processor, and the process is complete!
As you find more and more resources, new ingots will become unlocked, so make sure you familiarise yourself with the process, and always have enough power in your base to keep it running.
