Sony has confirmed that September 3 is when the newest State of Play showcase for 2026 will take place.

What Games Could Feature During September 2026 State of Play?
A look at games from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners is guaranteed; there will be a fresh look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation, and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, amongst others, are rumored.

“State of Play returns Thursday, September 3 with two broadcasts airing back-to-back.
First, tune in for a new State of Play featuring updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners, concluding with an extended look at the vast world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation from our friends at Square Enix.
Immediately following, stay tuned for a new episode of State of Play Japan, once again hosted by Yuki Kaji. State of Play Japan will offer deep dives into upcoming games from game studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay, announcements, and more.”
However, you can already bet rumors are swirling around. The biggest rumor so far is Intergalactic—the latest project from Naughty Dog. It’s been absent since its reveal, and it feels like it could be the time for a proper gameplay reveal.
