The character model and a special level from a canceled Garfield platformer have been spotted circulating on social media.
There’s a lot of canceled stuff that has surfaced online recently. Just a few days ago, we saw 10 minutes of gameplay of Quake 4’s canceled ‘Awakening’ expansion surface online. We also got to see a canceled version of Metro 4, which has been unveiled through more than 120 GB of content. Now, a canceled Garfield title has appeared.
Canceled Garfield Platformer’s Character Model and Special Level Posted
A new post by EvilLeeker on X (formerly Twitter) features a character model for an “unreleased” Garfield Dream World game. The screenshot has the words ‘Burger Rider’ written, which could be the model name, along with mentions of ‘Microids’ (a French developer and publisher) and Balio Studio, the people behind Garfield Lasagna Party.
Another X user, mrevillblionair, added more to the previous leak, with their latest post seemingly containing a “Garfield Special Level”. The user has claimed that they canceled the game and “exported the build”. What’s more, the person behind the Worms leak has confirmed to Insider Gaming that it’s real: a canceled Garfield Platformer “by the guys who made the lasagna party game.” However, they do not know who the leaker is. At the same time, readers should take this information with a grain of salt.
For those unaware, Garfield Lasagna Party is a party game that was released by Microids and Balio Studio in 2022. It features 32 mini-games across various environments like Garfield’s house, the pizzeria, Liz’s veterinary clinic, and more. The games feature activities like throwing snowballs, navigating obstacle courses, slicing pizzas, and more. Up to 4 players can play together and features different modes like Standard, Challenge, and Competition.
In other news, the canceled Last of Us Online title is still spoken about as the best multiplayer game that some Naughty Dog devs have ever played. Additionally, the voice actor for Miles Morales in Insomniac’s Spider-Man video games has provided insight into why the rumored Venom game will not be released.
