PUBG: Black Budget’s Second Closed Alpha Test Announced

KRAFTON has lifted the lid on the second closed alpha test for PUBG: Black Budget, the genre-crossing extraction title in development now. While the schedule wasn’t confirmed, the team stressed that access can be requested on Steam from today, much like it was during the last closed test, which took place in December 2025.

It has been a few months since that first test, and the hope is that KRAFTON has already soaked up the feedback and applied it to the product that’s being tested next.

Another Black Budget Test is Coming

PUBG: Black Budget’s next major test is on the horizon, and users can request access now via Steam. Once requested, all that’s left is to wait for the schedule to be confirmed to see if you’re successful in your application to try out KRAFTON’s new extraction shooter.

In December, the first closed alpha went live, unveiling an attractive but basic extraction title with some genre-skipping mechanics. It takes what KRAFTON has done with PUBG’s battle royale environment and introduces an intense extraction mechanic.

It works well, but as with all things, the proof will ultimately be in the pudding.

The next closed alpha test for PUBG: Black Budget will be open to North American, European, and Asian regions, and, of course, it’s limited to PC players on Steam only.

As with the first go around, players will be free to stream, record, and share gameplay from the closed alpha, as there’s no NDA regarding the content. In December, I sat down to try a few hours of Black Budget and came away relatively impressed and intrigued by the game’s potential.

If you’re lucky enough to gain access to the closed alpha, you’ll also be allowed to invite up to two friends on Steam, but you must have been friends for at least 30 days. The team did stress that the friend element might be disabled if the servers come under too much strain.

In December, Black Budget secured a peak player count of around 10,000 users during the first playtest, so let’s see to what great heights the second playtest goes.
