Pearl Abyss has announced that Crimson Desert has gone and hit another sales milestone, this time crossing the 3 million mark.
The developers have definitely done well with Crimson Desert, and the sales numbers are showing great results. We already saw the game cross the 2 million mark in its first day, and now, just four days later, the title has sold another million. It will be exciting to see how far it can go.
Crimson Desert Has Sold Through 3 Million Copies
A new post by the official Crimson Desert account on X (formerly Twitter) reveals a new sales milestone: 3 million copies sold worldwide. The developers have thanked all the players who have stepped into Pywel and assured that “feedback continues to help shape the experience, and we will keep working to make the journey ahead even more enjoyable for our players.”
The developers are constantly working on the title, and it shows. They already had a big day-one patch and released another massive one yesterday, with countless fixes and other improvements to make the experience more enjoyable. They are also working on some things that will target the control issues, which is a good thing to see.
Moreover, the title kicked off with some huge numbers across Twitch viewership and Steam player counts, and it seems to be retaining those players. At the time of writing, the 24-hour peak was 205,834, and the all-time peak was 248,530, set on the weekend. And these are just Steam numbers; we are yet to learn Xbox and PlayStation numbers.
In other news, Pearl Abyss has taken to social media to apologize for the recent Crimson Desert AI art scandal. What are your thoughts on Crimson Desert selling through 3 million copies? Leave your thoughts down in the comments, and join the official Insider Gaming Discord server.
