Crimson Desert has already sold 2 million copies within a day of its release.
Pearl Abyss’s latest title, Crimson Desert, had a lot of hype behind it ahead of its release, and that has translated into good sales numbers. We already knew that the game managed to achieve huge numbers on platforms like Steam and Twitch; now we know how much the title has already sold across all platforms.
Crimson Desert Sells Through 2 Million Copies
A new post by the official Crimson Desert X account (formerly Twitter) states that the game has “sold through 2 million copies worldwide. The developers have thanked the community for their incredible support and assured them that they will work on the shared feedback to implement improvements quickly and “make the journey ahead even more enjoyable” for all Crimson Desert players. The game released on March 19 and took less than a day to hit this milestone.
A report from earlier this week indicated that the game had already sold nearly 400,000 copies on Steam just a couple of days before its official release, generating gross revenues of over $20 million. Since then, the total sales have multiplied by five, now encompassing all available platforms worldwide. At launch, the game reached an all-time peak of nearly 250,000 players on Steam and is currently maintaining a steady player count of 179,823 as we head into the weekend.
In other news, Crimson Desert’s review scores have led to a crashing share price for Pearl Abyss as investors get shaky. Additionally, here’s Insider Gaming’s review of the game, where we described it as “Beautiful, ambitious, and frustrating.” What are your thoughts on Crimson Desert already selling through 2 million copies?
