Crimson Desert launches with impressive Twitch viewership and Steam player counts, even as review scores remain mixed.
Crimson Desert is the new open-world game from Pearl Abyss, and it launched on March 19. It is already the number one-streamed game on Twitch. The game currently has nearly 500,000 viewers on the major streaming platform.
On SteamDB, the game has a concurrent player count of over 131,000. It’s currently the number six-streamed software on Steam. The title is currently outperforming Marvel Rivals, ARC Raiders, Overwatch, and more.
Crimson Desert’s Metacritic Reviews and Pearl Abyss Stock Info
Crimson Desert currently has a Metacritic score of 78. This is based on 98 scores ranging from several 100s to the lowest current score of 45. Insider Gaming scored the game a 7. You can check out our full review here.
Pearl Abyss’ stock price fell by nearly 30% after receiving some of the mediocre review scores. According to the Seoul Economic Daily, the market had anticipated a median score in the mid-to-high 80s, and the disappointing results seem to have negatively impacted the stock.
While it remains to be seen how the game performs, the metrics are at least high for now, and perhaps more buzz will be generated for the title, leading to positive user reviews in the future.
