The Witcher 4 Now Has 499 Developers, CD Projekt Red Confirms

The team working on Witcher 4 has expanded to 499 developers at CD Projekt Red, demonstrating the studio’s commitment to its next major RPG.

CD Projekt Red announced its FY 2025 total earnings. In one of the graphics in their presentation, it was revealed that, as of February 28, 2026, the Witcher 4 currently has 499 developers working on the project.

The total number of developers across all projects has increased from 707 to 993.

The Witcher Trilogy Has Sold Tens of Millions of Units

The data also shows that as of May 2025, the Witcher Trilogy has sold up to 85 million copies. 60 million of those sales come from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The company had 60% net profitability and also boasted that, in terms of net earnings, 2025 was the second-best year in the company’s history.

During the conference call, it was confirmed that most of the new hires are part of the team working on the upcoming Witcher game. New hires are helping improve quality and scale-up solutions.

“In the current year, we plan to continue strengthening our development teams, working on key projects, and we want to continually attract the best talent in the industry, offering them a space for safe and inspiring development,” said CD Projekt’s joint CEO Michał Nowakowski.
