CDPR’s new job listing suggests that Project Hadar is an action RPG, focusing on melee-based combat.
CD Projekt Red has several games in development, including sequels to its existing franchises and new IPs. As of May 2025, CD Projekt Red has 730 developers, who are spread across The Witcher 4, Cyberpunk 2, Project Sirius, Project Hadar, shared services, and other projects. Now, finally, some new details about Project Hadar have surfaced online.
Project Hadar is an ‘RPG/Action title With Melee-Oriented Combat’
Spotted by Tech4Gamers, the new details about Project Hadar being an action RPG come from CD Projekt Red’s latest job listing for a Senior Gameplay Designer. The listing clearly states that they are hiring for Project Hadar, which is CDPR’s new IP. The qualifications for this role state that the developer needs at least 5+ years of professional experience, “preferably in RPG/Action titles with melee-oriented combat.”
Granted, this is not a lot to go on, but some players might be happy that CD Projekt Red is sticking to its roots of creating some of the best action RPGs out there. The new IP will bring a brand-new universe and a host of fresh characters, and hopefully, the developers will have more to reveal soon.
In other news, CD Projekt Red recently released the massive Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3, introducing new cars, quests, features and more. Additionally, The Witcher 4 is aiming for 60 FPS on consoles, but the developers feel that the Series S will be ‘extremely challenging’.
