Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Rated for Switch 2 by South Korea Classification Board

The Metroid Prime 4: Beyond waiting and wondering might be ending as it’s been rated by the South Korean Classification Committee. Now that it’s rated, it means a release date might not be far away.

We’ve had so much Metroid Prime 4: Beyond news and gameplay footage this year that it also makes up for the years of the sequel being in the wilderness. Almost. A bizarre blunder about the game apparently being out aside, release date info has been non-existent.

It seems odd, as the game’s been in development for so long. The game’s now been rated, though, and this is positive news.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Release Date News Surely Coming

On July 25, the Nintendo Korea Corporation was granted official classification for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond by the Game Rating and Administration Committee.

The title of the product is “Metroid Prime 4 Beyond Nintendo Switch 2 Edition,” and it’s been labeled as safe: “For 12 years old”.

Here’s the reasoning behind the rating decision: “A first-person adventure game set on the planet Bureaus, which was sent due to an unexpected situation after Samus Aran encountered Sillux at the Galactic Federation Research Facility, and mildly violent
expressions (using weapons attached to suits to attack alien creatures). Therefore, in accordance with Article 21 of the Game Industry Promotion Act and Article 7, Item 2 of the Classification Regulations, it was decided to classify it as a ’12-year-old user’.

It now feels like a matter of time until Metroid Prime 4: Beyond gets its full release date. Nintendo might be saving it for the next Direct, but the game is now likely to meet its 2025 release period.

Do you think Metroid Prime 4 is destined for 2025? Will it define an unreal 2025 for the Nintendo Switch 2 if it happens? Let us know through the Insider Gaming forum.
