Diablo is Coming to Diablo 4 Next Week, Diablo Devs Confirm

Diablo.

That’s right, folks – the Biggest Bad™ himself, Diablo, is set to surface in Diablo 4 next week when the game’s fifteenth season, dubbed ‘Season of Hell’s Legacy’, comes to the game. It has been a long time coming, and on September 15, the ultimate arch-evil himself will appear for all to tackle.

The monumental season fifteen run accommodates a thirty-year celebration of Diablo, and it comes as Blizzard has just lifted the lid on Diablo 5, set to bring post-apocalyptic mayhem to the world in 2029.

Diablo Will End Everything

It’s possible that Diablo’s arrival in Diablo 4 might start to weave a tale that brings an end to Sanctuary and the last tendrils of good left in the world. What we know is that Diablo 5 introduces us to a fully overwhelmed and ruined world, one in which Diablo has well and truly won.

Before we get to that, we have to contend with the Season 15 update in Diablo 4.

Diablo won’t be alone when he joins the ecosystem next week; he’s being joined by Mephisto and Baal, two Prime Evils that fans of the franchise will easily recognize.

Blizzard published a neat blurb that explains what Season of Hell’s Legacy is all about:

Season of Hell’s Legacy is the centerpiece of our 30th Anniversary celebration for Diablo – and what better way than to slay demons, hunt secrets, and bear the remnants of the Prime Evils. Follow the seasonal questline through a living history of Diablo’s past games, refreshed and recreated for Diablo IV.

Then relive the past as you encounter the memories of legendary heroes, notorious foes, and delve into the storied and troubled past of Sanctuary’s long history.

This update is set to enhance the endgame loop, add more customization options, introduce a string of Horadric Cube crafting recipes, and bring a bunch of quality-of-life features to the platform.

That platform is also set to expand, thanks to Blizzard finally confirming that Diablo 4 is headed to Nintendo Switch 2.

New seasonal progression, exclusive rewards to unlock, skills to acquire, cosmetics to enjoy, and free stuff to pick up via Twitch Drops and XBOX Game Pass unlocks. It’s a great time to be a Diablo fan. What’s more is that the team also confirmed that the game’s next class, Amazon, will be arriving in just a few months.
