World of Warcraft Forever Announced, And It’s Huge

During today’s BlizzCon spectacle, Blizzard finally lifted the lid on WoW Forever, responding to months of rumors and hopes concerning ‘World of Warcraft Classic Plus’, the long-anticipated big-ticket item on the wishlists of many players.

You don’t have long to wait before WoW Forever launches, either. It has been described as ‘friendly, familiar, and new’, and a handsome cinematic trailer showcased during the BlizzCon 2026 opening broadcast had fans buzzing. It was also big enough to eclipse some incredible announcements, such as the one confirming a bold return of StarCraft in an all-new format in 2030.

WoW Forever is Coming Soon

World of Warcraft Forever is as close to the original MMORPG as you’ll ever get, Blizzard has effectively confirmed. It sticks close to the fundamentals of the game that pulled in many millions of players two decades ago. It’s also interesting to note that it won’t be a one-shot thing, as Blizzard intends to pump a bit of post-launch content into it.

That content pipeline includes new zones, more than 1,000 new quests, improved PvP, more dungeons, fresh professions and reputations to grind, updated visuals, and even some hefty new raids. There’s even a new race for players to explore and learn about.

The team explained that WoW Forever will have a level cap of 60, but the new content they’re lining up will accommodate the entire spectrum of players, even those who are exploring World of Warcraft for the first time via WoW Forever.

But when does World of Warcraft Forever launch?

Well, if you’re at BlizzCon in Anaheim this weekend, you can experience WoW Forever right now. It’s playable right there on the show floor, and you’d best believe it’s busy. But next week, on September 17, a beta will commence.

The full release for World of Warcraft Forever will arrive on November 4, so again, it’s not that long to wait.
