Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is the next project from legendary studio Naughty Dog. The company is entering uncharted waters with it, and we’ve had one of the first major updates since the game’s initial reveal way back.
Everything we’ve heard about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has been through the grapevine or different avenues. For instance, news came out that Naughty Dog has been making overtime mandatory for Intergalactic devs. Additionally, an Intergalactic actor has said the game is coming out ‘In a Couple of Years.’
The newest update possibly hints at this and gives us a clue to how development is going.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Closer to Completion

This isn’t from the grapevine or a reputable source this time; the update is from Naughty Dog’s socials.
A message on X said: ‘”See you, space cowboy…” That is a wrap on the very ambitious Intergalactic cinematic shoot! This cast killed it! Cannot wait to show you their incredible work when the time is right!’

Along with the message is a picture of Tati Gabrielle—who plays main character Jordan A. Mun—holding a gun prop.
This just covers the cinematic shoot, and it’s unclear how much gameplay development is left, plus all the post-production needed on the filmed footage, audio and sound design, and so much more.
It’s safe to say that Intergalatic likely still needs more time in the oven, but many are wondering if it could be one of the showcase attractions of the PlayStation State of Play event for September 2026.
