Assassin’s Creed Netflix Series Will Explore 64 A.D. Rome
According to a report by Variety, the upcoming Assassin’s Creed live-action series for Netflix will feature an original story set in Rome in 64 A.D. New cast members include Louis McCartney, Mirren Mack, Youssef Kerkour, and Sandra Guldberg-Kampp. The series will be shot entirely in Italy and will be based at Cinecittà Studios. Filming for the series began on March 9 and is expected to continue until October 16. The series is set to premiere on Netflix in 2027.
The report also states that in 64 A.D., the Great Fire of Rome broke out, lasted six days, and damaged or destroyed more than half of the city. Emperor Nero was blamed for this disaster, which gives us some idea of the kind of characters we could expect in the series or what the plot might be about. However, this is just speculation, and players should wait for official confirmation from Ubisoft or Netflix to know for sure.
In other news, they have brought on an Euphoria star as the lead and will feature Chernobyl’s director at the helm.
