Wild Blue Skies draws on N64 and PS1-era aerial shooters for its Switch debut. Discover its arcade combat, branching paths, and more. Heavily inspired by Star Fox 64, the game launched on PC, PS5, and XBOX in August 2026 from Chuhai Labs and Balor Games.
Wild Blue Skies Launches on Nintendo Switch for $14.99

Star Fox 64 was recently remastered and launched on the Nintendo Switch 2 in June of this year, but Wild Blue Skies, released on the Nintendo Switch 1 on October 28, lets players enjoy classic on-rails shooter gameplay on the previous-generation Nintendo hardware.
With its arrival on Nintendo Switch, Wild Blue Skies invites new and veteran pilots on the platform to join Bowie Stray and his Blue Bombers as they soar through the clouds on a mission to save the world. Players will take command of the elite squadron and experience the thrill of retro-inspired arcade combat first-hand, battling waves of enemies and colossal bosses over vast oceans, desert ridges, and perilous caves. From its iconic characters and intense dogfights to its branching mission paths and a high-score system that rewards mastery, this fast-paced adventure makes every flight worth repeating.
Wild Blue Skies received a mixed reaction on Steam. Some players enjoy the inexpensive opportunity to play a Star Fox-like game. Others panned the game as rough around the edges, too much so to recommend.
Additionally, the official soundtrack for Wild Blue Skies is also available on Steam as digital DLC for $4.99 USD, and fans of physical media can pre-order a special edition vinyl album on The Yetee for $35.00 USD. It features 20 original songs composed by Marc Junker and five bonus tracks.
