How to Unlock Free Burnoff Skin in Fortnite

Fortnite introduced a new skin to celebrate Fortnite’s long-awaited return to the Apple App Store in the U.S.

In 2020, Fortnite was removed from the Apple App Store due to a dispute between Apple and Epic Games. On May 9, 2025, Epic Games attempted to launch the game back onto iOS, but Apple stopped the process in its tracks with a lengthy review process.

Players still held out hope that it would eventually be approved, but instead, Apple blocked the game from appearing on the US App Store or Epic Games Store in the EU. Epic Games issued a statement confirming that Fortnite on iOS would be offline until Apple unblocks it. In response, A United States judge ordered Apple to explain why the battle royale remains blocked despite rulings allowing it to return to the app store. On May 20, Epic Games finally ended the five-year battle and brought Fortnite back to iOS devices.

How to Claim Free Burnoff Skin in Fortnite

To unlock the Burnoff Skin, players must log into the Fortnite app on Android or iOS from any region before June 17.

After you log in once, the skin will automatically appear in your Fortnite locker and can be equipped. There are plenty of other exciting skins in the battle royale, too. This includes a Star Wars General Grievous skin, an Emperor Palpatine skin as part of the battle pass, and a customizable Mandalorian skin.

Fortnite iOS System Requirements

Downloading Fortnite on iOS devices is simple and can be done on the Apple App Store.

To download the game, you need 576.6 MB of free space. iPhones require iOS 17.4 or later, and iPads require iPadOS 17.4 or later.

Like on other platforms, Fortnite is free to download, and the battle royale has cross-progression, meaning your purchased items and progress will be shared across all platforms as long as you link your Epic Games account.

You can link your Epic Games account on the official website.
