MADFINGER Games has just shadowdropped the Winds of War update that I likened to a ‘Gray Zone Warfare 2.0’. This super-sized patch overhauls the game in many ways, and in recent weeks, a slew of creators have been testing the update for all to see. Now is the time for gamers everywhere to get involved.
In case you’re wondering what’s so good about Winds of War, consider that the update touches almost every aspect of the game, ushers in a genre pivot, and makes Gray Zone Warfare more immersive than ever before.
Winds of War is Out Now
MADFINGER has dropped Gray Zone Warfare’s long-awaited Winds of War update for all users to access. The update has arrived hand-in-hand with a wipe that resets everyone and puts them back to level-pegging to enjoy the new features as a collective.
The list of changes and new features being implemented with Winds of War is insane, featuring dynamic weather, improvements to AI, new PvP mechanics including combat outposts, quality-of-life improvements, stacks of new weapons, fresh loot features, and much more.
All this arrives as MADFINGER pivots from dubbing Gray Zone Warfare an extraction shooter and moves back to naming it an MMOFPS, one of the only games of its kind in the industry right now. It’s fair to call it that, too. This always-online experience encourages players to interact across a massive, open map, developing their character and play style as they pick and choose their activities across the world.
Fans have been clamouring for a release date for Winds of War on social media, and MADFINGER has neglected to provide one. Instead, they went one better and just dropped it.
What’s more, the team has kicked off a Twitch Drops campaign featuring the first-ever in-game reward rotation for Gray Zone Warfare.
What a time to be a fan.
