I’ve been taking a PC bundle for a walk around the block in recent weeks, piecing together my impressions of some of the best low-budget peripherals on the market. If you’ve been hunting for reliable, capable, and budget-friendly equipment for your new PC setup, you’ll want to pay close attention to this breakdown.
I’m talking about a sweep of Logitech G items, including the G705 mouse, the G515 keyboard, the Yeti GX microphone, and the G535 headset. Without breaking the bank, you can build a solid setup that’s great for streaming, gaming, and everything in between.
Build It, Love It
Let’s break down the items I’ve been taking for a spin one by one, just to keep things digestible.
Firstly, one of the most important things for a gamer – a solid mouse. The G705 LIGHTSPEED mouse is a nifty wireless device that flies across a mouse pad with effortless abandon. The attractive design and RGB splash are a nice complement to the Aurora collection, but even as a standalone item outside of that range, it’s a stunning thing.
The G705 is designed to be used by those with smaller-than-average hands, so bear that in mind. The build is a relatively no-frills thing that features two thumb buttons and a DPI switcher, and if you want to use it with many different devices, you can use the onboard Bluetooth function.
At $94.99, it’s a great pick.
Now, let’s look at the keyboard – the G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL. This keyboard is fantastic and perfect for everything from esports to daily word processing, if that’s your thing. It features a low-profile design with slim keycaps, and the tenkeyless layout means it’s perfect for almost every desk space.
The G515 TKL boasts Logitech’s tri-mode connectivity mechanics, so it works with basically anything. I’m a huge fan of the G515 TKL’s profile and tactile touch, and the double-shot PBT keys are a wonder underneath your fingertips. Also, it might be thin, but the G515 TKL is sturdy, which is what you want for hours of gaming or streaming.
The G515 TKL will set you back around $139.99, which is not bad at all for a premium-feeling keyboard like this.
We’ll turn to the Yeti GX microphone next.
If you’re a budding streamer, you’ll want an attractive microphone that sits front and centre on your streams, and that’s where the Yeti GX comes into play. This small but mighty accessory has a sleek, compact profile, an engaging RGB strip, and a ‘space-age’ feel – especially if you opt for the white version.
It’s a USB device that’ll work with any PC setup, and the dynamic capsule with a supercardoid polar pattern means background noise, including things like keystrokes, is eliminated. The controls are easily accessible, the sound quality is superb, and when you pair it with Logitech’s desktop applications, you’ve got a powerhouse of a microphone.
The Yeti GX boasts a price tag of around $139.99.
Finally, the G535 LIGHTSPEED headset – one of the most important things for a diehard gamer.
The G535 is lightweight, capable, and comfortable, which is everything you want for longer gaming sessions. The 40mm drivers will stun you, and the 33-hour battery life (on average) will keep you covered for an entire session, or two, or even three.
With ample bass, a solid volume range, and great layering that means you’re able to hear where every enemy is coming from, the G535 headset is a brilliant peripheral that shouldn’t be slept on. I’m a huge fan of the aesthetic of the G535, from the multi-coloured spatter pattern of the headband to the angles of the comfortable earcups.
If you want to secure a G353 headset, you’ll be paying around $119.99.
