Destiny: Rising Closed Beta Test Begins on May 29

Destiny: Rising pre-registrations have begun as the closed beta arrives on May 29. Players can pre-order the game on the iOS App Store right now.

The iOS App Store listing for Destiny: Rising is now live, providing players with new details about the game. The listing also mentions a release date: August 31, 2025. However, the description mentions that the “current launch date is not final.” Moreover, the listing reveals that Destiny: Rising will be a free-to-play title.

What is Destiny: Rising?

The Destiny franchise will be entering the mobile gaming universe for the first time with Destiny Rising. The game lets you choose between immersive first-person and third-person perspectives with compatible touchscreen controls. Heroes and legends will join the battle, featuring familiar faces from the Destiny franchise and some new characters being added to the mix. Your character choice will determine your combat style and the skills you use to battle foes.

The upcoming mobile game will feature some classic and brand-new game modes. Destiny Rising will include fan-favourite campaign missions, 6-player co-op strikes, and all-new replayable PvP and PvE modes. While fighting against enemies, players can access various powerful and unique weapons with different trait combinations and gameplay mechanics. You must decide which of these weapons fits your play style the best.

The upcoming mobile gaming title will have players exploring new sci-fi biomes and uncovering hidden mysteries with their friends. Destiny Rising will feature clans, casual party game modes, customised shared spaces and more.

In other news, morale at Bungie is in ‘free fall’ after the recent Marathon controversy. Also, the developers have responded to art theft claims. Will you participate in Destiny: Rising’s closed beta test? Let us know below, and join the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.
