Fortnite Mobile and iOS have been a heartbreaking story of separation for a while. However, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney said recently that it’s finally coming back, and it could be sooner than you think.
It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since we’ve seen Fortnite Mobile on iOS. Apple’s popular storefront has lacked the titanic presence of one of gaming’s greatest battle royale shooters due to legal action. After a change of legislation in 2024, though, it was decided that Fortnite Mobile could return, and it feels like sooner rather than later.
Fortnite Mobile’s Return is Closing in

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney posted to X on May 1: “We will return Fortnite to the US iOS App Store next week.“
He also added: “Epic puts forth a peace proposal: If Apple extends the court’s friction-free, Apple-tax-free framework worldwide, we’ll return Fortnite to the App Store worldwide and drop current and future litigation on the topic.”

We’re now in the week that he spoke of. Content creator DuckyTheGamer asked X: “Is today the day that Fortnite Mobile finally re-releases on iOS?”
Of all people, who should respond? Tim Sweeney. The CEO had a simple and promising response: “Possibly.”
Quite simply, we’ll leave it there. The words have been spoken for us. All I ask is, what do you think? Is Fortnite Mobile really coming back this week? Will you be downloading it the second it’s back? Let us know through the Insider Gaming forum.
