The latest Battlefield 6 live-action trailer has thrown some serious shade at Call of Duty for using celebrities in its commercials.
The live-action trailer, released today, begins with a cinematic shot of Zac Efron, Jimmy Butler, Morgan Wallen, and Paddy Pimblett all walking in slow motion in tactical gear. Zac Efron then says, “We’re here to do one thing, and one thing…” before the entire squad of celebrities is swiftly blown up by a missile.
A squad of soldiers then emerges from the smoke and asks, “Who was that?” with another soldier replying, “It doesn’t matter.” The trailer then shows soldiers battling it out on an urban map, showcasing the game’s gadgets and destruction.

Shots Fired at Call of Duty
The start of the trailer was clearly aimed at Call of Duty, which has traditionally used celebrities as a part of the game’s marketing for the last decade or so. It’s a strong message and one that Activision and its developers have been trying to backtrack on for the last several months, including re-doing the games’ pre-order skins to be more “authentic” to Call of Duty.
“As part of our commitment to the authentic look and feel of Call of Duty®: Black Ops 7, and after receiving community feedback specifically related to the Black Ops 7 Vault Edition offering, we’ve decided to implement some visual changes to three of the four Vault Edition Operators in the Operator Collection and deliver a bonus Operator Skin for T.E.D.D,” they said.
It’s clear that the Battlefield vs Call of Duty conversation is once again heating up, with this year poised to be a close call between both games.
Battlefield 6 is scheduled to release on October 10 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.

That is one of the best ads I’ve ever seen in my life. It is competition incarnate. They may very we ell eat into some of CODs money this year. Maybe a lot.
Battlefields problem is that it’s still a battlefield game and is nothing like COD. COD will still significantly outsell it even with gamepass.
Waste of money. Commercial was cringe, hopefully the Saudi’s fix all of this and clean EA up.
