Battlestate Games, the developer behind Escape from Tarkov, is branching out and starting to publish games. This revelation surfaced during today’s FPS Games Show, a showcase hosted by BULKHEAD to reveal the latest and greatest in the first-person shooter space.
Over the last decade, Battlestate has been effortlessly dominating the extraction shooter space with Escape from Tarkov, a punishing but hyper-popular game that arguably pioneered the entire genre. Now, Battlestate wants to help other studios bring their games to the market.
Battlestate is Getting Into Publishing
In a post on social media, Battlestate Games shared the news once again:
Battlestate’s Nikita Buyanov shared the information with me earlier this year that the studio was looking at moving into publishing, and now that statement has been realized. The team has explained how they’re looking for ‘hardcore projects’ that might not be for everyone; the games that might be making traditional publishers a little nervous.
That’s their bread and butter, after all.
They’re inviting developers of all shapes and sizes to get in touch, but for now, things are being kept under wraps. Given the profile of Battlestate Games, it probably won’t be long until we see some projects emerge under their new publishing banner.
Nikita Buyanov has branched out this year in other ways, too. Months ago, he revealed Fragmentary Order, his new hardcore sci-fi shooter that’s being developed by his all-new studio, Rant Gaming, which features former Battlestate Games talent.
