The FPS Games Show is an all-new showcase brought to you by BULKHEAD, the team behind WARDOGS! It’s part of an initiative to better serve the gaming community with a platter of FPS-related content, a category that’s often underrepresented during mainstream showcases, and it has been put together with a stellar lineup of games.
Below, you’ll find everything you could want to know about the full slate of announcements, reveals, updates, and everything else associated with this first outing for The FPS Games Show!
Note: This is a live article that is being updated as announcements come. You will need to refresh it to get the latest. You can watch the full broadcast of The FPS Games Show here.
All Announcements At The FPS Games Show
Here’s the full sweep of things announced or revealed during this first outing of The FPS Games Show.
Fragmentary Order
Nikita Buyanov’s new game, Fragmentary Order, opened the showcase with an all-new trailer (made up of some previously seen footage) that explained a fair portion of the game’s backstory. It was a nice dive into the origins of the game’s universe. In Fragmentary Order, players embark on a hardcore, sci-fi shooter journey in a harrowing, ruined future.
Rainbow Six Siege
Rainbow Six Siege, arguably the biggest-budget game in The FPS Games Show, took to the showcase to talk about Operation Split Fire. The mid-season update includes a stack of content, including the new operator, Noor. There’s a lot coming for Rainbow Six Siege, which is one of the oldest active first-person shooters in the business.
Ubisoft has poured a decade into the live-service operating model for this game. This season, players are getting drone racing called ‘Wasteland Circuit’, which is a full-fledged mode with pickups, multiple maps, and an energetic vibe.
Escape from Tarkov
Escape from Tarkov had a prestigious spot reserved during The FPS Games Show, which is rare, because Battlestate Games doesn’t get involved in things like this. It’s indicative of the show’s power.
The trailer wasn’t a typical thing, though. It revealed that Battlestate Games, the studio behind the game, wants to become a publisher as well as a developer, helping to bring other games to market to share the love a little more. Battlestate has been creating a world-class extraction shooter for a decade, so it’s perfectly placed to step into this role.
Ready or Not
Ready or Not debuted a new trailer at The FPS Games Show, diving into version 1.5’s mission editor, which is being added to all platforms. The team explained how the mission editor’s modifiers will work, allowing deep customization for players wanting to build a more unique experience.
It will also allow users to create their own missions to share with the wider community. The 1.5 patch is available now on all platforms.
STALZONE
STALZONE, an extraction MMO with a huge twist, received a new trailer during The FPS Games Show. This game started life as a crossover of sorts between STALKER and Minecraft, but earlier this year, it underwent a major rebranding, changing its name and identity.
It’s a fantastic shooter that might look strange at first blush, but it has a huge amount of meat on its bones. In the new trailer revealed today, we got a look at the upcoming horror-fueled new STALZONE season, which makes the already freaky game look pretty damn terrifying. It’s called Tulpa, and it runs until December 2.
SCUM
SCUM has evolved nicely this year, but the all-new trailer for the game showcased how far the game has come in the last 12 months alone. The FPS Games Show was the perfect staging ground for this trailer, which revealed just how bats*** this game can be, fusing ferocious wildlife and intense, traditional combat with an open-world environment.
Gray Zone Warfare
Gray Zone Warfare enjoyed a decent segment in The FPS Games Show, with MADFINGER Games giving a general tease about the game’s operating model, including the mystery at the heart of the game and how the game’s hardcore loop works.
This PvE and PvEvP first-person tactical shooter has been on the market in early access for more than two years, and it’s set to evolve immeasurably soon with another super-sized update. To celebrate the spot at The FPS Games Show, Gray Zone Warfare has kicked off a 30% discount on Steam.
WARDOGS
WARDOGS, which is backed by BULKHEAD, the host of The FPS Games Show, received something of a launch trailer during the showcase. WARDOGS is coming out on August 10, and it has been showing up boldly during earlier playtests.
It’s one of the most exciting shooters of the year, and it has already secured a massive audience numbering in the hundreds of thousands. BULKHEAD revealed a clip competition that could result in some gamers unlocking massive cash prizes, just for showcasing how much fun they’re having in WARDOGS.
This challenge features a $100,000 jackpot. So, if you’re eager to secure a stack of cash, you’d better get capturing.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam needs no introduction, but it had one during The FPS Games Show anyway. It has only been a few weeks since the full release of the game, and update 1.5 is on the horizon, according to the team. The trailer revealed today was only a short one, but it was still exciting.
Beautiful Light
Beautiful Light, a horror-themed extraction shooter that lets you take control of the beast and humans, revealed a new trailer during The FPS Games Show. This tactical shooter, which has some innovative mechanics, such as a wrist-mounted PDA that lets you survey your game in real-time, promises intense and at times frightening gameplay.
It’s a mind-bending shooter that’s best enjoyed as part of a team, and it’s going for a realistic approach to gameplay, despite featuring terrifying, mutated monsters and other anomalies. The game’s new trailer showcased combat from the perspective of both human fighters and the vicious creatures that stalk survivors.
Bellum
Bellum received a short and punchy new trailer during The FPS Games Show, backed by a commentary-driven section presented by Drewski, a content creator connected with the game. The trailer and associated content walked through the new savannah-themed map and new combat mechanics it promises to introduce.
There are new weapons, class types, equipment options, and ammunition types coming in the game’s next major update. The patch is another ‘step forward’ towards the 1.0 launch. For now, the early access path continues to unravel.
Incursion: Red River
Incursion: Red River, one of my favourite PvE-based extraction shooters, revealed an exclusive look at its next major update, simply dubbed update #4. It includes a new map (Outskirts), more survival mechanics in the form of a food and drink system, improved AI and art, fresh utility items, and ‘so much more’.
Incursion’s team tends to stump up some stellar updates, and this one, which is coming this Fall, looks no different.
Road to Vostok
Road to Vostok, an early-access first-person shooter with hardcore and extraction mechanics, is getting a new build. The game’s (almost) solo developer released a new trailer for this build during The FPS Games Show, revealing a new faction, a trader who drives around the game world, and a new shelter option.
Road to Vostok launched into early access this year and found great success amongst the FPS community. The second build will drop on Steam on September 30.
SAND: Raiders of Sophie
SAND: Raiders of Sophie is the most innovative FPS to make this list. It emerged earlier this year with a super unique operating model that sees players craft behemoth fighting machines to roam large worlds, scavenge resources, and battle other players. It has a retro theme that’s kind of Westernpunk in a way… It’s hard to explain.
The new trailer revealed during The FPS Games Showcase was more of a promo for the core experience than anything else, and it absolutely gave you a taste of how chaotic the game can be.
BODYCAM
BODYCAM, the harrowing and deeply realistic first-person shooter, also received a new trailer during the showcase. Recently, BODYCAM underwent a monumental resurgence with the Locked and Loaded update, getting the mother of all overhauls and pulling in more concurrent players than ever before.
It was a true turning point for the game, and this action-packed trailer showcased during The FPS Games Show was the perfect representation of the energy behind the game. It effectively recounted all the changes and additions featured in Locked and Loaded, which is available now to all users for free.
’83
During The FPS Games Show, ’83 received an introductory trailer geared towards letting players know what the game is and what’s coming next, including new commander abilities, a fresh map, and new ways to level up. The new Marshlands update will bring 40 vs 40 battlefields with immense opportunities for intense, realistic combat, and it looks brilliant.
If you enjoy games like Battlefield, you’ll probably love ’83, which favors large-scale, multi-faceted fights featuring tanks, varied classes, and massive squads.
For the next few days, you can try out ’83 for free on Steam.
Terminal War
Terminal War isn’t a first-person shooter, but it still had a well-deserved spot during The FPS Games Show. This Last of Us-style third-person shooter has been turning heads for months, as it feels like a spiritual successor to Factions, the multiplayer platform of days gone by.
In the new trailer for Terminal War revealed during the showcase, we learned how the world fell apart – and how the survivors banded together to try to rise up and fight in their civil war. It also offered a glimpse at the game’s core multiplayer maps in a variety of conditions. It really does remind you of The Last of Us, and that’s superb.
WW1: Gallipoli
WW1: Gallipoli is getting another major update soon, and The FPS Games Show served as the staging ground for a new look. It’s called Ottoman Fronts, and it’s arriving on October 1st, bringing an all-new theatre of war to the fight.
