Escape from Tarkov Will Be Supported with New Locations and DLCs Once 1.0 Comes Out

One of the chief concerns surrounding Escape from Tarkov when it hits 1.0 in November is what happens next. Will Battlestate Games give up on Escape from Tarkov once the game has hit the open market and been listed on Steam, or will it continue to be supported by a live-service operating model, like it has been all these years?

During the Tokyo Game Show, Battlestate Games hosted a Q&A presented by Nikita Buyanov, the head of the studio, and the talk turned to the future of Escape from Tarkov beyond 1.0.

Tarkov Will Get DLC Over The Five Years

Nikita, the most prolific personality at Battlestate Games, spoke to the fans at the Escape from Tarkov booth at the Tokyo Game Show. He had bold promises for the future of Escape from Tarkov beyond the launch of the game as a 1.0 product, graduating from more than eight years of beta testing.

With that in mind, Nikita explained that DLCs, new maps, and more intense events will land post-launch, and even that zombies will return to Escape from Tarkov soon, presumably at Halloween. The seasonal wipes will remain, and they’ll be ‘more unique’ and memorable, and a new story will be added (as we know) with multiple endings.

Escape from Tarkov won’t be dropped once it has hit the 1.0 state that fans have been chasing for the last decade. If anything, it’ll become even more of a priority for Battlestate Games to support it, given that Tarkov will be available to buy on Steam once the 1.0 version has been released, which means more players will inevitably find their way into the game.

This all takes Escape from Tarkov into the mainstream. One of the concerns from those hesitant to get involved has always been around buying the game exclusively from escapefromtarkov.com and playing through a proprietary launcher, but the game coming out on Steam eradicates that concern.

And now, Nikita has confirmed that, no, they won’t drop support for Escape from Tarkov after the 1.0 release. If anything, things will only get better.
