Escape from Tarkov’s Story Will Have Four Endings, But 80% of Players Won’t See The ‘Best One’

Escape from Tarkov is preparing to launch into a 1.0 state on November 15, bringing to an end eight years of beta testing. This monumental moment is a milestone for sure for the pioneering extraction shooter, and it’s set to welcome countless changes to the game, a new map, and, of course, the ability to finally escape from Tarkov.

In a recent Q&A at the Tokyo Game Show, Battlestate Games’ Nikita Buyanov explained how escaping from Tarkov will be the ‘achievement of your life’ for the biggest fans of the game.

Escaping from Tarkov is the Ultimate Goal

Escape from Tarkov’s 1.0 release has so far been met with a mixed reception from the extraction shooter community. Many claim that the game ‘isn’t ready’, while others have played 1.0 at shows (like the Tokyo Game Show) and have given the version rave reviews.

During a recent appearance at TGS, fans got hands-on with Escape from Tarkov 1.0 and touched base with Nikita Buyanov, the head of the studio at Battlestate Games.

Talking about the concept of finally escaping from Tarkov, Nikita had some critical information to reveal. He confirmed that Escape from Tarkov’s core campaign will have four endings, with the ‘best ending’ (otherwise known as the toughest ending) being accessible only to around 20% of players.

Nikita went on to suggest that players will have a seasonal character that sticks to the wipe model, and a permanent character that levels up ad infinitum. There are more than five years of content planned for Escape from Tarkov once the game hits 1.0 in November.

The team will continue to support Escape from Tarkov far beyond the 1.0 launch, which is also happening on Steam, bringing Tarkov to a launcher outside the proprietary one set up by Battlestate for the first time. All the trappings of Tarkov, including new maps, events, and seasonal LTMs, will continue to populate the ecosystem.
