To celebrate the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, as they have done for much of the build-up, Sony and Rockstar have teamed up for two unique PS5 controller designs that aren’t cheap but will look good in your collection or in your hands.
GTA 6 will be released this year, and the leaks have not interrupted the game’s schedule. Its developer has reaffirmed the release date, and the GTA 6 extended look for Netflix was one of the greatest things ever.
The September 2026 Sony State of Play contributed to the game’s hype even more with two limited-edition controllers that are bound to sell like hotcakes.
How Much Are GTA 6 Limited Edition PS5 Controllers?
The GTA 6 Limited Edition controllers cost $84.99 or £74.99.
This is about the standard for limited-edition controllers. A regular PS5 controller will set you back $69.99 if you’re paying the RRP without a special offer, and special designs always cost a fraction more.

Again, this is the recommended retail price, and unless they sell out, you might be able to save yourself a few dollars or pounds if you shop around.
When Can I Pre-Order GTA 6 Limited Edition Controllers?
PlayStation has confirmed that you can start pre-ordering GTA 6’s rare controllers from September 10.
This is one week from the controller reveal at the September 2026 Sony State of Play Showcase.

‘Starting on September 10 at 7:00am PT/10:00am ET in the U.S., and 10:00am local time in the U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, players will be able to pre-order DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and White Limited Edition through direct.playstation.com in limited quantities. In Portugal, players can pre-order through playstation.com/store/hardware.’
How to Buy & Pre-Order GTA 6 Limited-Edition Controllers
Sony suggests you need to buy the controllers directly through the PlayStation Direct store when they’re available, whereas other places need to go through the PS Hardware section of the store.
GTA 6 is releasing on XBOX Series X|S, and presumably PC later on, but these are exclusive PS5 controllers and can seemingly only be bought through PlayStation.

So far, I haven’t seen any retailers or outlets provide an option to buy them yet, but this could change closer to launch. Stay tuned on that front.
For now, here’s the best way to secure your order:
- Head to PlayStation Direct.
- Highlight PS5 Accessories.
- Scroll down and click on Controllers & Remotes.
- Search for the GTA 6 controllers.
- Alternatively, use the search bar in the top-right corner to look for DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition or DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition.
- Once they’re live, click on them.
- Complete your pre-order.
- You should receive them on the controller’s release date!
When Do GTA 6 Limited Edition Controllers Come Out? Release Date, Explained
A PlayStation Blog has confirmed that ‘Both limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers will launch starting on November 19.’
So, you can pre-order now, but you won’t be getting the actual controllers until launch day—or maybe a day or two earlier, if delivery is kind to you.
GTA 6 Limited Edition Controller Designs
There are two main designs: A Black PS5 controller and a white one. Each has a detailed pink finish on the D-Pad buttons and face buttons, the GTA 6 logo is present in the middle of the touch pad, and there are other nice neon touches around the device.
