The Blood of Dawnwalker is all about loot in many ways. You’ll be picking up armor, weapons, rings, potions, relics, and all kinds of manuscripts as you journey across Vale Sangora, and in some cases, you’ll stumble across something legendary. That’s what I did in the first hour of my Blood of Dawnwalker playthrough, and now I’m here to help you out big time.
There’s a pretty secret location right at the start of The Blood of Dawnwalker that houses an incredible legendary sword, and it’s one that I stuck with from the moment I found it until the end of the game. There’s also a nice piece of master armor there, amongst other things.
Here’s where to find your first legendary sword in Blood of Dawnwalker.
Find Durandal, The Legendary Dawnwalker Sword
I was lucky enough to stumble upon Durandal, a phenomenal sword, very early on in my adventure. It became my trusty companion, and it never left my side for the remainder of my game. That’s because you can upgrade weapons in The Blood of Dawnwalker to keep them as fresh as possible, which is what I did.
But where do you find your first legendary sword in Dawnwalker? Well, you’ll want to head west of Briar Sloughs, into a valley of sorts that runs almost out of the core map. Here’s the undesignated location on the map itself:

When you get here, you’ll see that the area looks a little haunted, and that’s because it kind of is. You’ll need to complete an impromptu quest called The Cursed Chasm, which will use two segments of your timeline. To do this, you simply need to eliminate the Echo wraith that appears, along with all its minions.
Once you’ve done that (note: it’s pretty tough, I lied…), you can loot the area to uncover the Durandal sword:

For those who aren’t history or literature buffs, the sword ‘Durandal’ (or Durendal) belonged to a legendary paladin named Roland, who served under the order of Emperor Charlemagne. It was said that the sword was gifted to Roland by an angel, and it became known as the ‘French Excalibur’, echoing Arthurian myth.
Anyway, back to Dawnwalker.
Alongside Durandal, you should also find some Artisanal Bracers, the master-tier ‘Rebel’s Sturdy Coat of Plates’, and a stack of dinarii.
Given the location’s proximity to Laslea, which is where your story begins, you should have no difficulty in rushing there, defeating Echo, and claiming these immense riches.
