Bethesda Reaffirms It’s Developing Elder Scrolls 6 Now

In a post on social media published to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls, Bethesda Game Studios gave the briefest update imaginable on The Elder Scrolls 6, the next iteration in the legendary series. In August, it was confirmed that TES 6 had left pre-production, and that was reiterated today by Bethesda Game Studios, with the firm stressing, ‘We are in development on the next chapter – The Elder Scrolls VI’.

Something Is Better Than Nothing

The Elder Scrolls is thirty years old, a staggering milestone for any franchise – especially one that’s still incredibly popular. In a post on Twitter, Bethesda Game Studios talked about the origins of the franchise and where things are at today, such as the recent release of TES: Castles and the latest iteration of ‘Creations’ in Skyrim, which is still being supported by BGS more than a decade after release.

It was then referenced:

Last but not least, yes, we are in development on the next chapter – The Elder Scrolls VI.

There was a look forward to ‘the next 30 years’ of the franchise, which shows that Bethesda Game Studios is optimistic about the future of The Elder Scrolls. It’s the next major game from the series, and after The Elder Scrolls 6 has hit the market, Bethesda Game Studios will pivot to focus on Fallout 5. It’s expected that the post-apocalyptic series will have its next iteration drop in around five to eight years, almost two decades after the last single-player entry in the series was released.
