The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is shaping up to be one of 2026’s biggest events. New actors and roles have slowly been drip-fed in the build-up to the film’s release. In front of a watching world, main cast members, Charlie Day and Chris Pratt, may have indicated that Wario and Waluigi are appearing in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
You can’t deny how good the casting choices were for The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Charlie Day was born to play Luigi, Chris Pratt quelled doubts about playing Mario, Jack Black is a monstrous Bowser, and there really isn’t a bad role anywhere.
With Galaxy looking stacked, even more iconic Mario characters could be introduced.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Could Add Wario & Waluigi

On an episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Charlie Day and Chris Pratt appeared to promote The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
In a fun segment, Day and Pratt were given novelty Mario buttons to press in response to questions from Fallon about the movie. You press the red shell if the answer is no, whereas a yes warrants a ‘?’ Block press.
Fallon ran through a few questions, but got to a very interesting one, which elicited a curious response from the actors:
“Wario and Waluigi make an appearance.”
Day hit the red shell, and Pratt pressed the block—giving us a non-committal answer, and you’d think there’s only one reason why they’d opt to do this…
Waluigi and Wario are in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie!
Don’t take this seriously, of course. While the actors could be teasing the world, knowing this could be a question, this might be another reason to go and watch the movie.
If Waluigi and Wario do appear, it could simply be a post-credits cameo setting up a third movie. Check out the full segment here.
Are Wario and Waluigi all but locked in for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie? Or is this an elaborate ploy? Let us know what you think via the Insider Gaming Discord.

My guess is post credits also set up for the Donkey Kong movie.
This news doesn’t aged well… as they didn’t made any appearances or even a cameos…
