First Halo: Combat Evolved Campaign Prequel Mission Details Surface in New Claim

Halo: Campaign Evolved is set to bring the first-ever Halo campaign back to life. A 2026 release beckons, and if you can’t wait for something more official, a reported leak has shed some light on the new content.

It’s still disappointing that there will be no multiplayer element in Halo: Campaign Evolved. On the plus side, Halo Studios is putting a lot of heart and soul into the campaign, and doing so involves new features, content, and expands on the Halo lore.

Halo: Campaign Evolved Prequel Mission Content Reportedly Revealed

Halo Studios announced early on that Halo: Campaign Evolved would have three never-before-seen missions, serving as a prequel to the main game.

With the game set to release in 2026, we still haven’t heard anything about the missions. However, Rebs Gaming claims to have a source that has gotten the lowdown on this content, and Rebs Gaming believes the report to be accurate—but this exclusive leak needs to be taken with a huge pinch of salt.

Here’s what Rebs Gaming had to say about the prequel missions (from their source):

“They include an ODST Helljumper who will reignite the old rivalry between Spartans and ODSTs, which started during the early days of Master Chief’s Spartan training program.”

The references to other Halo games don’t stop there, as Rebs’ source also mentions: “There’s a small homage to Halo: Reach in these new missions.”

The leak adds more details:

“I’m also told the new missions feature a never-before-seen Covenant faction with models built entirely from scratch, which is where Halo Studios’ leadership decided to invest their resources into. This new Covenant variant has a much more religious appearance than what the fans are used to, and its way of acting differs a bit, especially regarding technology.

Finally, Rebs says that Brutes are also going to feature in the prequel missions as well. Again, this is all far from confirmed, so be ready for any potential changes or release plans that don’t align with this leak.

  • The original version of Halo Combat Evolved didn’t have any brutes if I remember but I do wonder why Halo Studios is adding them to Halo Campaign Evolved.

  • If this flops too will they finally close Halo studios aka 343. These guys make nothing but trash Halo is dead thanks to them. There is no nostalgia either because they made new games. Raven would be better off making a new online f2p Halo same with Gears over this and Coalition
