It will take around 20 hours to complete the main story of Dying Light: The Beast, developer Techland has confirmed ahead of launch.
Initially planned to be a DLC, Dying Light: The Beast’s completion length was confirmed to GamesRadar in July. In the months since then, it’s unlikely things have changed significantly.
The scope of the game increased massively after the change of plans to switch The Beast from DLC to its own title, and it will provide plenty of hours of entertainment.
The exact amount of time it takes to complete the story will vary depending on player skill and priorities, like if you get distracted by side quests and exploration. Naturally, if you opt to explore everything the title has to offer, it will take longer to tick off the game.
How Long is a Dying Light: The Beast Full Completionist Run?
A full completionist run in Dying Light: The Beast will take an additional 20-30 hours on top of the main story.
In the same interview, franchise director Tymon Smektala said “the additional stuff” will result in “at least another 20, 30 hours” of gameplay.
That puts The Beast on a similar sort of level to the original game, which, according to howlongtobeat, averages out at 36 hours of play for those who complete the main story and side quests, with 64 hours for a full completionist run.
As you can see, you should expect to sink plenty of hours into Dying Light: The Beast before you can tick off everything the game has to offer.
