Doom: The Dark Ages Devs Provide More Details for Revelations DLC
During a new interview with IGN, Doom: The Dark Ages director Hugo Martin revealed some additional details about the Revelations DLC. When talking about the new weapon for Revelations, Chain Spear, Martin revealed that it will be required for the endgame content “that makes up roughly 40% of this 10-12-hour DLC.”
Martin also discussed the focus of the Revelations DLC, explaining that it will explore the backstory of the Slayer before he became known as that. Originally named Flynn Taggart, he was a marine, and the DLC will delve into the Nightmare levels to tell more of Flynn Taggart’s story.
The Doom director also addressed the classic levels that were teased in the trailer, explaining that these will be playable; they are short but meaningful experiences. The director also discussed some of the new enemy variants and the returning ones, with The Archvile mentioned specifically, who will now summon demons rather than resurrect them. Also, the Ripatorium will receive an update for Revelations.
