CD Projekt RED is still not done with Cyberpunk 2077, as the developer has revealed a cheeky Update 2.5 is on the way, which seems to tie into Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2.
This shouldn’t be a surprise given that CD Projekt RED is still developing new The Witcher 3 content 11 years after the game first came out. But yet, a new, major Cyberpunk 2077 update is in the works, and the initial teaser image suggests it will include content related to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Coming to Cyberpunk 2077 on October 22?
The official Cyberpunk X page dropped a bombshell out of nowhere: ‘NEW UPDATE INCOMING.’
Its social media post included a release date for Update 2.5 on October 22, an image related to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, and a little sticker in the bottom corner that says: ‘Edgerunners II Update 2.5’

A special mention is also given in a follow-up message:
‘A huge thank you to Taisei Uchida (Original Art), Yukiko Kakita (Ink & Paint Check), and Yuichiro Tozawa (Special Effects) for their contributions to the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5) official illustration.’
CD Projekt Red is on something of a hot streak right now. The Witcher 3 Remastered was recently released, featuring a hundred-plus changes to make the most complete edition of The Witcher 3 ever.
Also, The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past is the game’s new, forthcoming DLC, and of course, The Witcher 4 is happening. If you haven’t already, here’s the trailer for Edgerunners season 2.
