Embark Studios has officially removed all traces of PvE content from ARC Raiders, bringing to an end the monumental test that saw 30 million rounds of PvE played in a week. It was a temporary thing from the start, but it still hurts that it has disappeared, leaving thousands of PvE players out in the cold.
The team at Embark recognized this fact in a recent blog post, calling the mode ‘polarizing’ and saying that they’ll now go away to assess all the data they can get their hands on. Additionally, a survey will be posted around a ‘representative sample’ of ARC Raiders players in the coming days to gather more information.
ARC Raiders PvE is Over… For Now
Embark Studios has confirmed in a blog post that the PvE test has well and truly wrapped:
The limited-time PvE matchmaking toggle test has ended – we want to thank everyone that came to take part and who provided us with valuable data and insights.
More than 30 million rounds of PvE were played over the testing period – this gives us a huge amount of information to analyze! As such, we’re going to need a short period of time to dive into the numbers and draw out the insights.
Embark has always been a very data-driven developer, which has been clear from how it has handled the game’s lifecycle thus far. But this pool will be staggering, and what they do next could make or break the future of ARC Raiders. It’s no big secret that PvE was a massive hit, and the consensus is that Embark would be making a fatal flaw by not adding it permanently.
In November, the decision surrounding PvE content will, one way or another, emerge.
Additionally, the team rolled out the game’s 2.2.0 update today, which adds a stack of bug fixes and improvements based on recent patches.
If you want the full length and breadth of that, there’s another blog post to trawl through.
