Call of Duty: WW2 on PC is Taken Offline To ‘Investigate an Issue’

Activision’s teams have taken Call of Duty: WW2 offline on ‘PC Microsoft Store’ to investigate an issue. That issue is, of course, malicious operators using RCE exploits to take control of people’s computers. Activision has yet to address these concerns publicly, but the clips and screenshots of these issues are running rampant on social media.

In recent days, users have been reporting their PCs being taken over and remotely controlled. It all stems from when Call of Duty: WW2 was added to Game Pass, but these RCE issues have allegedly been around for several years.

Not That Simple

In a post on social media, the Call of Duty Updates page wrote:

Since then, no further information has been provided.

Fans were quick to slam the Call of Duty team across social media for the tone-deaf message. It’s far beyond being ‘an issue’ when people are having their computers taken over and, in some reports, siphoned. Here’s one clip of someone being hacked mid-match on Call of Duty: WW2:

Many fear that this is the ‘expectation’ for older Call of Duty titles going forward. The more classic games have long been a breeding ground for some bizarre cheats and hacks, and some lobbies on the older games are a nightmare to behold.

However, Call of Duty: WW2 came out in 2017, so it can be argued that it shouldn’t be in such a rough spot.

But it is, and here we are.
