Summer Game Fest 2026 is nearly upon us. It’s THE games festival of the year, with multiple showcases all taking place over the span of a few days. With Sony’s efforts being relegated to an extended State of Play, and Nintendo likely to follow suit with its next Nintendo Direct, there’s a real chance for Xbox to take center stage this year.

When is the Xbox Games Showcase 2026? Start Date & Times
The Xbox Games Showcase 2026 is penciled in for June 7, with an official 10 AM PT start time—adjusted worldwide for different time zones.
There’s at least one headline presentation per day in the first week of SGF 2026. Xbox gratefully takes its place on the podium on June 7, with Gears of War following shortly after.
Last year’s show was roughly an hour long, so I’d suggest it would be the same in 2026. On the other hand, the Xbox landscape has changed significantly in the last few months. Phil Spencer is no longer steering the ship after stepping down in February 2026.
His duties and responsibilities now fall on Asha Sharma. The new Xbox CEO has wasted no time in trying to reestablish Xbox as a core gaming brand. Xbox has changed Achievements, there’s a new Xbox boot-up sound, and Game Pass prices have been lowered.
Sharma could be ready to dish out many more details about the Xbox brand’s future during the presentation, making this one of the most intriguing Xbox appearances at Summer Game Fest in years.

When is the Gears of War: E-Day Direct?
An official start time hasn’t been given to the Gears of War: E-Day Direct, but we do know it will be ‘immediately following’ the much-anticipated Xbox Games Showcase 2026.
For context, last year’s Xbox showcase was immediately followed by a separate stream about The Outer Worlds 2. It was quite literally seconds after the Xbox Games Showcase wrapped up, and it should be the case here.
Furthermore, The Outer Worlds 2 got roughly an hour of time dedicated to it. It won’t quite be that this time around, as the Gears of War: E-Day Direct runtime has already been revealed.
With The Coalition labeling this their “Most Ambitious Game” and Gears of War: E-Day giving Cliff Bleszinski ‘Goosebumps,’ it’s an exciting time to be a GOW player.

I was looking for help as to where I could look for a ride or any kind of transportation to the Gears of War E day event, or if someone could help me financially. I never win anything when it comes to sweepstakes, giveaways, competitions and things like that. But I WON! I won free admission to this event and got a plus one! Unfortunately , right now, I do not have transportation and I am saving money right now for plane tickets (CHS airport in South Carolina to LAX) but I know I’m going to be short. I am a die hard Gears of war fan and I have played and beat every one of them with my friend on legendary mode. I’m even cool with carpooling at this point. But I would love any kind of information as to where I could get some help to try to be able to make this trip because it means a lot to me.
