The length of the forthcoming Gears of War: E-Day presentation has been revealed.
Gears of War: E-Day is slated for release sometime this year. Currently, no real footage has been shown since 2024. The game was initially announced at the 2024 Xbox Showcase in June; at the time, only a cinematic trailer was shown. of that year.
However, new footage of the game will be shown during the Gears of War: E-Day Direct presentation on June 7. This news was recently confirmed by an Xbox executive.
Gears of War: E-Day Direct Length Revealed Ahead of June Event
Xbox Chief Content Officer Matt Booty recently appeared on the official Xbox podcast and confirmed that the presentation would run about 30 minutes. The Standalone presentation is separate from the Xbox showcase that will be held just prior to the Gears of War content being shown.
“I’ll say that we’ve got the Gears Direct coming, and after seeing that, we’ve probably got like a full 30 minutes, which is really great. And I don’t know. I just love everybody in that studio, the work they’re doing. I’m excited about the game, and we’re going to have a fantastic, full 30 minutes of stuff to see.”
Matt Booty Also Discussed His Recent Promotion to Xbox CCO
Furthermore, Booty was asked about being promoted to the role of Xbox CCO. He was announced as the CCO in the wake of Phil Spencer’s retirement.
“The title is more than anything a reflection of the work that the studios do. It is so core to who we are as Xbox and all the work that all our teams do across all our studios. It’s a validation of their work,” he said. “The title, you see it in other places. You see it in film, you see it in publishing.
“I think it brings, again, a validation that says that one, Xbox takes these studios seriously, that Microsoft takes it seriously, and that content, things we build; all our great games [are] important, so that’s really what it’s about. For me, my job stays the same.”
