New Xbox Boot Up Sound Revealed By CEO

Xbox CEO has revealed a new boot-up sound for consoles, which should arrive next week.

Since the arrival of the new CEO, we have seen all kinds of changes at Xbox, including reducing the price of Game Pass, revealing new tiers, and much more. The latest change has been made to match the brand-new Xbox logo; however, the new sound feels awfully similar to the previous iteration.

New Xbox Boot-Up Sound Makes Small Tweaks Over the Previous One

Interested readers can check out the new Xbox boot-up sound in the CEO Asha Sharma’s latest post on X (formerly Twitter). Sharma also stated that the new sound will arrive next Wednesday, May 13. Though the latest version and the previous iteration of the sound are very close, there are some audible tweaks. The sound feels higher-pitched, is shorter in duration, and matches the animation they have set for the new logo pretty well. Interested readers can check out the comparison video below:

Since Asha Sharma’s arrival, players have been seeing more frequent changes towards Xbox. Just recently, the CEO announced that Microsoft will no longer develop Copilot for Xbox and is winding down mobile development as well. Along with that, the Xbox leadership is seeing further changes: more former Microsoft CoreAI folks have joined the company’s leadership team.

In other news, Xbox Game Pass brings a stacked lineup for May 2026 Wave 1 with Forza Horizon 6 headlining the collection. Here are more details. Microsoft has announced a new Game Dev Update show that will give an update on Xbox’s Project Helix next-gen console. What are your thoughts on the new Xbox boot-up sound?
