The IO Interactive CEO has revealed that the 007 First Light Switch 2 version’s release could be delayed further, but it is coming for sure.
007 First Light’s Switch 2 port was first delayed indefinitely, and then IO Interactive revealed that it would arrive later this summer. However, it now seems the game will be delayed further so the developers can provide the best possible experience for players on Nintendo’s platform.
007 First Light Is Already Running on the Switch 2
While talking to The Game Business, IO Interactive’s CEO has addressed a possible second delay for the 007 First Light Switch 2 version. When asked about it’s status, Hakan Abrak, stated that the game is already running on the Switch 2, however, they don’t plan to release it until they “make it as good as it can be”. The CEO is not willing to hear criticisms of this variant, such as players stating that “it wasn’t a good version.”
Abrak added, that they “need a bit more time to get it where we want it to be.” The developers had first stated Summer 2026, but it seems that it will be pushed to late summer. However, the CEO is confident that the Switch 2 version will come. Abrak concluded, Bond has a special place on Nintendo. And I promise I will do everything I can, and I can do quite a lot being the CEO, to get that in a great shape.”
In other news, the CEO has also stated that a sequel for the 007 First Light franchise depends on public reception. Additionally, IO Interactive’s CEO has confirmed that their new online fantasy RPG IP, Project Fantasy, is in a safe place.
