The countdown to the new season in Fortnite is well and truly on, with the transition just a few weeks away, and v40.41 will mark the start of the build-up for Epic Games‘ latest launch.
For all the details on when to expect the next Fortnite update, Insider Gaming has you covered.
When is The Next Fortnite Update?

The next Fortnite update is set for Thursday, May 28, as Epic Games deploys v40.41 into the fold, with 4 AM ET expected to be the start of downtime, as usual.
Epic Games’ release structure of regular updates results in downtime and content updates every few weeks, and after the last update on May 14, a fresh patch is incoming to update to the latest version.

It’s a significant milestone in the latest patch, however, as Fortnite v40.41 is the final update of Chapter 7, Season 2, and the next update after this will see the long-awaited release of Season 3.
Major leaks for the upcoming season could be decrypted, including the live event, so expect to see a flurry of news.
What’s Coming in Fortnite v40.41?
As mentioned above, the biggest introductions in the v40.41 update will be the details of Chapter 7, Season 2’s Live Event, but that’s far from the only thing on the agenda.
There will also be the deployment of everything included in the Community Day, set to take place this weekend, and we could see some leaks for the Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Pass.

It will also mark the first time that content initially introduced in Chapter 5, Season 4 Battle Pass can be made available for purchase in the Item Shop. However, Epic Games is unlikely to drop all of that immediately.
A guarantee, however, is that more content is coming to the Item Shop for purchase, including the countdown for the launch of Typical Gamer’s Icon Series skin.
