Amazon is making major changes to Luna that are going to impact all users, especially those who utilize third-party purchases and subscriptions.
Starting April 10, Amazon Luna is no longer offering game stores, individual game purchases, or third-party subscriptions. The company says it’s being done based on feedback from players.
“At Amazon, we’re always looking for ways to better serve our players,” the company said. “Your feedback has been clear: you want easy access to great games, more social experiences, and a steady flow of new content from developers you know and love.”
“As our library continues to grow, more of that content is available to Prime members-and that’s where we’re focusing our future.”
Looking at the specific changes, Amazon is eliminating the following:
- A-la-carte game purchases
- Bring Your Own Library is no longer supported
- Ubisoft+ and Jackbox Games subscriptions have been discontinued
- Third-party game stores such as Ubisoft, GOG, and EA are being removed from Luna.
Even The Games You Own Are Leaving Amazon Luna
It’s not just about these features being removed from the Luna service. Even games that have been purchased are being removed from the platform.
After June 10, 2026, any game you may have purchased through a third-party store via Luna will no longer be playable. You’ll have to go through the proper third-party platform to continue to play.
If you have an Ubisoft+ or Jackbox Games subscription purchased through Luna, it will renew one final time before being automatically cancelled. If you want to keep it, you have to go through their channels to sign back up.
For those who’ve been utilizing the Bring Your Own Library feature, that will be removed on June 3.
Finally, if you have save data you want to download and bring over to where your games will be, you can do that. However, that will only be available for a 90-day period after June 10.
