Pearl Abyss has revealed the upcoming features, content, and improvements that players can expect in Crimson Desert between April and June.
It has already been three weeks since Crimson Desert was released, and it has definitely made a mark in the community. What’s more, the main development team has already moved to Pearl Abyss’ next game, but the support for the current title will continue, as we have just been informed about everything new that’s coming.
New Content and Features Coming to Crimson Desert
Boss Rematches, Re-Blockading, New Difficulty Setting, and Combat-Focused Content
Starting with the new features coming to Crimson Desert, Boss Rematches is the first feature to be revealed, allowing players to replay battles with bosses that gave them a tough time. Then we have Re-blockading, where enemies will work to reclaim liberated locations. The third new feature is Difficulty settings, with players getting the option to choose between ‘easy, normal, and hard’ once it arrives. The devs are also working on “new combat-focused content”.
Character Play Improvements: New Skills, Hide Back Weapons, New Outfits
The developers have understood that Crimson Desert players want new skills for Damiane and Oongka that stand against the likes of “Force Palm” and “Axiom Force”, which is why both are receiving abilities that are “equivalent” to Kliff’s skills. The next option is to hide weapons from the character’s back. Lastly, players will receive new outfits for the characters, and “certain outfits that can only be sold or donated will be updated so that they can also be worn.”
Quality of Life Improvements and Life Features: Specialized Strage, New Mounts & Pets
Next up, we have a new specialized storage as part of the new Crimson Desert features. Food storage will be the area where you can store ingredients for cooking. Wardrobe will have all your headgear, armor, gloves, footwear, and cloaks. Gatherable storage will feature items used for tempering and crafting, including crafting materials, such as insects, stones, ores, and more. Lastly, Collection Storage will feature quest items, recipes, and other items found through exploration.
They have also listened to players’ requests to add more summonable mounts and new pets. Additionally, “dedicated armor for other mounts is also being planned.”
System and Graphics Improvements: UI, Controls, and More
The next set of Crimson Desert features extends to the UI, controls, and the quality of distant scenery. Players will receive a minimum font size option for better legibility, with other improvements and QoL features coming to the map, inventory, and housing. Players who have had issues with Crimson Desert controls will receive new customization options for certain controller inputs. The dev team will expand the range of configurable keys for keyboard and mouse to improve usability.
Lastly, the realism of distant backgrounds will be enhanced; however, that patch could be “somewhat larger” as it improves on how distant scenery changes and the quality of rendering under different conditions.
The upcoming Crimson Desert features and content were previewed on its website.
In other news, Pearl Abyss recently released the 1.02 patch for Crimson Desert, which adjusts storage, movement, outfit visibility, fast travel, and more. Additionally, an exclusive Crimson Desert skin is now available for Fortnite. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Crimson Desert features and content?
